AVENDANO, Camila; ARBELAEZ, Germán y RONDON, Guillermo. Biological control of Phaseolus vulgaris bean vascular wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. phaseoli with combined Entrophospora colombiana, Trichoderma sp. and Pseudomonas fluorescens action. Agron. colomb. [online]. 2006, vol.24, n.1, pp.62-67. ISSN 0120-9965.
Entrophospora colombiana, Trichodermasp., Pseudomonas fluorescens and a combination of these organisms were evaluated as antagonists in biological control of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp.phaseoli on ICA Tundama variety bean plants. The research was carried out in one of Corpoicas mesh-houses using a completely randomized design, with 5 treatments, an absolute control treatment (no microorganisms present) and an infected control treatment (pathogen only). Evaluation was made during flowering, pod- filling and harvesting. The results revealed the low effectiveness of the organisms applied and they did not seem to be very promising in terms of controlling vascular diseases. However, good colonisation of beanroots by E. colombiana was observed, but without invigorating plant growth. P fluorescens increased plant growth and vigour. Applying Trichoderma sp. did not present any antagonistic effect, although it was the best treatment when compared to the other treatments.
