Chagas disease, pathology caused by the protozoan Trypanosoma cruzi, hemoflagellate parasite which reproduces inside the cells and circulates in the blood, not only produces cardiac as failure and digestive symptoms such as dysphagia, but also, disruptions in the oral sphere as alterations in the salivary glands, increasing the production of saliva. This situation demonstrates the need for further comprehensive studies of this disease, including the denistry area taking advantage of the large number of epidemiological and diagnostic tools we have nowadays, in order to identify the various oral manifestations that can be observed in chagasic patients, considering that this disease is curable if treatment is administered in a short time shortly after infection occurs.
