Objective: to review the characteristics of diabetic mastopathy from a clinical case. Materials and Methods: It is presented the clinical history of a woman affected by diabetic mastopathy and a review the literature by selection of relevant articles presented in the search engine PUBMED by the words "diabetic mastopathy". Articles considered relevant corresponded to case or series reports where repetitive information was found, so the selection of papers that support the information in this article was made by selection of the author. Letters to the editor and irrelevant articles were excluded. Results: we describe the case of a patient with type 1 diabetes who presented palpable mass in the right breast. In the tests, breast ultrasound was reported as Bi-rads 4 and the biopsy was compatible with diabetic mastopathy. Conclusions: the diabetic mastopathy is a rare disease which can occur in women with diabetes and which clinically imitates breast cancer. MÉD.UIS. 2014;27(3):109-112
