BUSTAMANTE VELEZ, LUCÍA. Space and identity in the speech of Tunja: a gender study. Cuad. linguist. hisp. [online]. 2015, n.25, pp.17-37. ISSN 0121-053X.
s research article presents considerations about aspects such as space and identity in the speech of male and female individuals from Tunja. The questions approached in this document include: how do men and women identify themselves with places? What do they value in their environment? How are their feelings expressed with respect to place? What kinds of places do they create? What kind of space is culturally assigned to them? What type of discourse do they construct in accordance with the place assigned to them? Hence, this research aimed at describing the imaginaries appearing in discourse uttered by these speakers, related to the conception they have of their living space and their identity. First of all, a succinct inquiry into gender and space relationships was carried out. Next, some concepts of space and identity were restructured and finally, the imaginaries found in the speech of men and women from Tunja were correlated with space and identity, through the categories of neighborhood, house, city and rural areas.
