Abstract

ESPITIA CIFUENTES, LAURA CAMILA. Counter to persuade: analysis of the argumentative strategies of attorney Alejandro Ordóñez. Cuad. linguist. hisp. [online]. 2018, n.31, pp.103-116. ISSN 0121-053X.

Since the beginning of the peace negotiations between the FARC and the Santos government, several representatives of the opposition have implemented a series of dele-gitimation strategies. Based on studies of Discourse Analysis that study the multiple destination of political discourse, this article analyzes the argumentative structure that applies the attorney Ordóñez in a letter addressed to Iván Márquez, head of the FARC delegation. The objections of the procurator have multiple recipients; they are addressed to the explicit addressee while issuing hidden acts to President Santos, Who appears as an undercover and indirect recipient. On the other hand, Ordoñez tries to make the transition from his initial intention to polemic towards a more conciliatory position, which enables him to propose the Pact for Peace.

Keywords : enunciation political discourse; complex illocutionary; controversial dimension.
