ROBERTO FLOREZ, Eliana Edith; MORENO CAMARGO, Jorge Iván  e  ARIAS RODRIGUEZ, Gladis Leonor. Professional Language Training Based on Student Autonomy Abstract. Cuad. linguist. hisp. [online]. 2025, n.46, e17900.  Epub 14-Mar-2026. ISSN 0121-053X.  https://doi.org/10.19053/uptc.0121053x.n46.2025.17900.

The goal of this research was to implement strategies that would foster autonomy in learning English and French as foreign languages among third-semester students in the Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Foreign Languages program at a private university. To this end, it identified limitations in the learning process and carried out four workshops based on the following concepts: motivation, decision-making, thinking skills, and study techniques. Its methodology was action research. Participants acknowledge a partial impact due to time constraints but also recognize the potential for future impact and external validation with other university populations. In conclusion, students need to apply strategies that promote autonomy in the foreign language learning process in order to maintain motivation and develop effective study techniques that will help them achieve their goals.

Palavras-chave : autonomy; learning; action research; foreign languages; study techniques.
