Immunology is one of the biomedical sciences that had, worldwide, a greater development in the last part of the XX century and the beginning of the present century. In Antioquia, immunology also had important developments that began the 1960s. In the second part of this historical review, the author describes the developments that occurred in the last years of the 1970s, the 1980s and the first half of the 1990s that lead to the establishment of the laboratories, groups and graduated programs Immunology that allowed immunology to be one of the more outstanding biomedical disciplines in the University of Antioquia.
