Abstract

NIETO-RIOS, John Fredy et al. Urogenital tuberculosis in a patient with kidney failure, state of the art. Iatreia [online]. 2020, vol.33, n.4, pp.360-369. ISSN 0121-0793.  https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.iatreia.67.

Tuberculosis is a common infectious disease in developing countries, which can cause a variety of complications and atypical manifestations with high morbidity and mortality. The urogenital form is rarely suspected, resulting in delayed diagnosis or even no diagnosis, which can have serious consequences for the patients, such as chronic end-stage renal disease. We report on a patient with chronic end-stage renal failure caused by a delayed diagnosis of bilateral renal tuberculosis and a literature review on this topic.
