Abstract

FAZIO VENGOA, Hugo. GLOBALIZATION: AN ELUSIVE CONCEPT?. hist.crit. [online]. 2002, n.23, pp.91-114. ISSN 0121-1617.

The main objective of this article is to try to explain the concept of globalization. In the first part, some of the difficulties encountered in trying to explain the globalization phenomenon in an integral way are described. The author then analyzes various concepts that are referenced in the content of the globalization concept as a whole, such as: process, capitalism, market, time, space, state, directionality. Lastly, he defines globalization as a temporalized interpenetrating network and shows how this does not constitute a fatality but rather something that can be turned into an opportunity to propitiate the development of the nations of the South

Keywords : globalization; development; intenational relations; history; process; time; space; state.
