This article reviews the images of the cinematographic news programs of the Acevedo brothers between 1940 and 1960, their recreation of the nascent modern experience in its industrial forms, the new modalities of urban life, the offer of consumer goods as a subtle form of incorporation into modern life and also into the Nation, the images of the political, economic, social, religious and cultural élites, and of their spheres and forms of sociability, as well as the audiovisual registers of the popular classes, which are more massive and have been less explored in terms of the subjectivity of the participants.
