Based on historian Cario M. Cippola's criticism of certain historiographic trends in the suggestive text Allegro ma non troppo, this article presents viewpoints about new ways of interpreting history based on the linguistic turn, the critical turn, and the postmodern influence, all of which put the historian on trial as a reconstructor of reality.
