Abstract

PEREZ, Inés. DOMESTICATING THE TV: THE USES OF THE TELEVISION IN EVERYDAY LIFE IN MAR DEL PLATA (ARGENTINA), 1960-1970. hist.crit. [online]. 2009, n.39, pp.84-105. ISSN 0121-1617.

This article focuses on the television as an object of everyday life and the place it occupies in the domestic sphere. While Argentinean historiography has so far focused on what happened in Buenos Aires, this article contributes to the history of other experiences regarding the arrival of the TV inside the home. It reconstructs the experience of those initial moments of the television in Mar del Plata in order to recuperate the historicity of the association between the television and domesticity.

Keywords : Television; Domesticity; Domestic Sphere; Uses; Experiences; Argentine.
