Abstract

LEVI, Giovanni. Microhistory and Global History. hist.crit. [online]. 2018, n.69, pp.21-35. ISSN 0121-1617.  https://doi.org/10.7440/histcrit69.2018.02.

This article describes the political situation in which Microhistory and global history developed. It also proposes a broad definition of both fields in order to establish the methodological innovations derived from them. At the same time, the author presents a series of renewed perspectives, which enable the study of the influence of these trends and the relationships they established with other social sciences -besides History and Anthropology- and the political and scientific directions of the current historiographical debate. This study aims to clarify the uncertainties of the concept of the global.

Keywords : Social Sciences; Microhistory; Global History; Total History.
