EHRLICH, Laura  e  GAYOL, Sandra. The Post Mortem Lives of Eva Perón: Body, Absence and Biographies in Mass-Circulation Journals in Argentina. hist.crit. [online]. 2018, n.70, pp.111-131. ISSN 0121-1617.  https://doi.org/10.7440/histcrit70.2018.06.

This article studies the post mortem lives of Eva Perón. It argues that her presence was not limited to Peronismo, since the popular press permanently evoked her with reports on her final resting place or biographies. Far from depoliticizing her, her presence in the mass culture of Argentina helped her to occupy a permanent place in the political and cultural disputes and discourses of that country. The icon of Eva Perón was also characterized by a notable mobility and mixture of cultural outlets: biographies of Eva that were originally written as books or articles were, at the same time, quoted, appropriated and consecrated by magazines and newspapers read by a mass public.

Palavras-chave : Argentina; mass culture; circularity and cultural mixtures; Eva Peron.
