Resumen

SANCHEZ, Rafael Arturo. Victim Participation: Risks and Benefits. Two Lessons from CPI for the Special Jurisdiction for Peace in Colombia. Prolegómenos [online]. 2019, vol.22, n.43, pp.63-78. ISSN 0121-182X.  https://doi.org/10.18359/prole.3473.

Victims are at the forefront of the implementation of the Peace Agreement, and their participation is expected to be guaranteed through the legal framework of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace. The manner in which this is achieved and its formal denomination is an issue that has already been heard in criminal justice scenarios at the international and transitional level, demonstrating that participation can bring certain benefits and risks both for the development of the procedure and to the rights of the victims themselves. Therefore, the lessons learned from these experiences can serve as guidance so that, within the framework of the Special Jurisdiction for Peace, these risks are prevented while enhancing the benefits from victim participation.
