Resumen
CENTTY VILLAFUERTE, Deymor Beyter. Justice as the object of study to build a consistent social science. Prolegómenos [online]. 2020, vol.23, n.46, pp.89-103. ISSN 0121-182X. https://doi.org/10.18359/prole.4214.
This work is a critical analysis of the scientific condition of law, seen from the perspective of philosophy of sciences or epistemology. The scientific condition of law is questioned since it is nothing more than a cognitive discipline that studies the normative body, its structure or hierarchization, as pointed out by Kelsen. Thus, the norm is an artificial element away from objectivity and other elements that characterize science, according to the most relevant approaches in epistemology (Bunge among others). Therefore, law is not able to develop its own theories and laws, techniques and instruments that build a social science, which is its aspiration. However, if law were to return to the study of justice as its object of study, it would be taking a great step in building a consistent and increasingly assertive social science.
