Abstract

VASQUEZ, David Alberto Londoño; BOTERO, Álvaro Ramírez  and  ASCENCIO, Milton Daniel Castellanos. Review of Research on Literacy in the Legal Field in Some Higher Education Institutions in Latin America. Prolegómenos [online]. 2021, vol.24, n.47, pp.25-38.  Epub Aug 06, 2021. ISSN 0121-182X.  https://doi.org/10.18359/prole.4245.

the article addresses different practices around the literacy typical of the formation of the field of Law in some Latin American universities. To reach the term literacy, in the higher education context, the uses of different theoretical and conceptual perspectives that talk about comprehension and textual production in the legal field have been reviewed. An analysis related to reading and writing processes in the legal field was carried out of the articles published between 2007-2017 in American journals. The analysis is carried out in a training and work environment. Results showed that literacy practices focus on repetition, the conceptual and textual appropriation of discursive genres, adaptation of texts to the diverse realities of the interlocutors, and the relevance of intertextuality in the discursive construction of legal argumentation.

Keywords : legal argumentation; text understanding; Law; legal discursive genres; legal literacy; textual production.
