Abstract

MIRA-ALBANES, John Jader; RODRIGUEZ NIETO, José Gregorio  and  SALAZAR-DIAZ, Patricia. Introduction to Knot Theory. rev. cienc. [online]. 2016, vol.20, n.2, pp.111-145. ISSN 0121-1935.  https://doi.org/10.25100/rc.v20i2.4678.

In this paper we give a short introduction to knot theory focusing on the two-bridge classical knot family. We describe the M. Toro's codification, the fundamental group of a classical knot complement and the recognition problem for virtual knots.

We also provide an algorithm to find a family of non classical virtual knots such that its groups would correspond to groups of two-bridge classical knot.

Keywords : Classical knots; Virtual knots; Two bridges knots; Two bridge knot groups.
