Abstract The paper analyzes the dynamics of changes in land use in the Ingeniero White Municipal Division, located in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, between 1967 and 2012. Two methodologies were employed. On the one hand, drawing up maps on a scale of 1:50.000 for both years in order to identify land use, and, on the other, applying the cross-tabulation method in a GIS environment in order to evaluate the changes that took place over a period of 45 years. The results show a significant growth in residential use and little variation in other uses.
