HERNANDEZ PENA, Yolanda  e  VARGAS CUERVO, Germán. Toward the Construction of Emerging Knowledge for Local Risk Management. Cuad. Geogr. Rev. Colomb. Geogr. [online]. 2015, vol.24, n.2, pp.15-34. ISSN 0121-215X.  https://doi.org/10.15446/rcdg.v24n2.50204.

The aim of this article is to reflect on the need to create emerging knowledge construction processes to analyze and influence scenarios of risk. These reflections arise from the findings from research for the doctoral thesis in geography entitled "An analysis of imaginings and perceptions associated with natural phenomena for appropriate risk management". This research was performed using an ethnographic approach that examined different risk scenarios for the country, such as floods, volcanic eruptions, landslides and earthquakes. The research results include a proposal that allows local knowledge to be related to technical knowledge and facilitates the understanding of the various links between natural phenomena and the social groups established in the areas influenced by these phenomena. In addition, the aforementioned research offers approaches for enriching risk management.

Palavras-chave : complexity; local knowledge; risk management; interdisciplinarity.
