Abstract

MASSIN, Thomas. The Metropolitan Productive Space: the Case of the Intermediate Space between Buenos Aires and Rosario (Argentina). Cuad. Geogr. Rev. Colomb. Geogr. [online]. 2016, vol.25, n.2, pp.59-74. ISSN 0121-215X.  https://doi.org/10.15446/rcdg.v25n2.52848.

The territory linking the two metropolises of Buenos Aires and Rosario is subject to strong metropolitan processes which have never been studied accurately. One of these processes is the productive activity; the two main actors are large industrial facilities and port terminals. Their coexistence in a premature metropolized space gives rise to an original model: a Fordist and Post-Fordist territory that questions the figure of postmetropolis proposed by the Los Angeles School.

Keywords : Buenos Aires; industrial facilities; metropolis; metropolitan processes; port terminals.
