Abstract
BEUF, Alice. Urban Centralities as Conceived Spaces: Technical and Ideological Patterns of Territorial Models in the Bogota Territorial Plan (POT), Colombia. Cuad. Geogr. Rev. Colomb. Geogr. [online]. 2016, vol.25, n.2, pp.199-219. ISSN 0121-215X. https://doi.org/10.15446/rcdg.v25n2.54776.
The article explores the dimension of urban centrality conceived in the framework of the urban planning of Bogota, starting from the Lefebvrian approaches that analyze urban centralities as places revealing the tensions in urban models. The research deconstructs the urban conceptions of centrality, understanding these as nourished by contemporary scientific thought. It relies on an analysis of the discourses, based on the study of urban planning documents and interviews used to locate these urban conceptions in their historical, intellectual, urban, social, political and economic context in order to identify continuities and inheritances despite profound transformations in the rapidly growing city.
