Abstract Travel Generator Poles (TGPs) are facilities and activities with size and scale capable of producing large travel flow and generating significant impact on contemporary Brazilian cities. This article aims to develop a procedure to address the urban landscape immediately impacted by such ventures or activities. For this purpose, using a reference theoretical framework, an analysis was done of the attributes that make up the urban landscape which permits the evaluation of its status and the identification of solutions to mitigate negative aspects and which assists in the projection of desirable scenarios as well as serving as a support tool for the Neighborhood Impact Study (NIS). To verify the applicability of the procedure, it was applied to the Paseo de las Aguas Shopping Center in Goiânia (GO, Brazil).

Keywords : neighborhood impact study; urban landscape; poles travel generators; shopping center.
