TAVERA ESCOBAR, Miguel Ángel; ESTRADA SIERRA, Nicolás; ERRAZURIZ HENAO, Carlos  and  HERMELIN, Michel. Geo-routes or Geological Itineraries: A Geo-tourism Model for the Ruiz-Tolima Volcano and Glacier Complex in the Andean Central Range of Colombia. Cuad. Geogr. Rev. Colomb. Geogr. [online]. 2017, vol.26, n.2, pp.219-240. ISSN 0121-215X.  https://doi.org/10.15446/rcdg.v26n2.59277.

The Ruiz-Tolima Volcano and Glacier Complex (CVGRT) evidences the genesis and evolution processes of the Andes Mountain Range. A geo-route system has been created using a database of georeferenced geomorphological sites and the evaluation of additional scientific information. These geological itineraries show different examples of geomorphological and geological settings found in this volcano and glacier complex. These geo-routes are an excellent tool to promote geo-tourism, promoting the enjoyment and conservation of geomorphological landmarks.

Keywords : Andes; landmarks; geo-route; geo-tourism; itineraries.
