Abstract

ACSELRAD, Henri  and  NUNEZ VIEGAS, Rodrigo. Social Cartography in Brazil and in Latin America: Epistemological and Methodological Challenges of Counter-Hegemonic Spatial and Territorial Mapping. Cuad. Geogr. Rev. Colomb. Geogr. [online]. 2022, vol.31, n.1, pp.196-210.  Epub Sep 06, 2022. ISSN 0121-215X.  https://doi.org/10.15446/rcdg.v31n1.85221.

The paper presents the content of discussions held over three seminars on the theme of the heterogeneous subfield of Social Cartography in Brazil and in Latin America. It produces a reflection that represents the issues raised by those who design, develop and participate in these cartographic experiences. It cited relevant literature, but most of the contributions presented emerged from discussions that took place during these events. The research aims to contribute to the expansion of cartographic discussion in Brazil and in Latin America, which includes different perspectives and ideas about conceptual, epistemological and methodological dimensions of mapping experiences that increasingly integrate situations of cartographic disputes that are being overlapping territorial disputes.
