Abstract

CARVAJAL AHUMADA, Germán. The Educator Needs to Be Educated. About Marx and Education. Pedagogía y Saberes [online]. 2017, n.46, pp.19-30. ISSN 0121-2494.

This essay is a reflection activity, intended to examine some of Marx's texts directly referring to education. The article is aimed at understanding Marx's thought about such an important issue for contemporary society; and the relation between Marx's statements on education and his global theory on historical materialism. The main conclusion from this reading lies on pointing out the current of Marx's thought on education, insofar as contemporary international policies on education tend to bring into reality the tendencies just springing in the nineteenth-century capitalism.

Keywords : Marx; education; capitalism; policy; modern society.
