Abstract

Throughout history, pedagogy has been committed to the teaching and the reflection on the purposes of the educational endeavors. Nowadays, it works on freedom and autonomy, which are its outstanding principles. Didactics, conversely, is restricted to the learning-teaching relationship and it is derived from the instrumental reason. Regarding epistemology, pedagogy works on disciplinary knowledge. The advent of didactics occurs by the late 60s in the 20th century, and it begins to show the power of sciences in school education. It is also the product of thinking and research and the presence of the verb to know is observed in these two terms. We address pedagogical knowledge is addressed on the one hand and didactic knowledge on the other. This research article mainly reflects upon this concept, its nature and its difference.
