This article is the result of the research titled "Aesthetic experience in interactive music education: a look from the school". It states that it is necessary for music education practices to be updated and modified, in accordance with current social and technological conditions. The text presents five experiences of music education with digital media in four public schools in Bogotá. Based on data from ethnographic observation in the field, from the analysis of virtual repositories of these experiences and from theoretical information on the subject, the researcher proposes an interactive musical education, based on the ideas of Silva (2005), on interactive education and Aparici and Silva (2012), on the pedagogy of interactivity. To overcome technological determinism, Dewey's (2008) approaches on aesthetic experience were adopted. Among the main findings are that an intercultural music education has been required in Colombia, that digital media can facilitate changes in educational practices if they are not thought of in a merely instrumental way, and that interactivity and aesthetic experience arise in musical education when it goes beyond the mere development of musical technical skills.
