Abstract
MARTIN HURTADO, María Daniela and GONZALEZ NOVOA, Andrés. @Freire.P #Netics in Social Media for Autonomy in Hyperreality. Pedagogía y Saberes [online]. 2021, n.55, pp.77-88. Epub Feb 15, 2022. ISSN 0121-2494. https://doi.org/10.17227/pys.num55-13105.
Freire would be one hundred years old and in this digital age that would translate into a post with the #tbt -Throwback Thursday, the networking trend that signifies a memory-inducing post. This thought-provoking article looks at how Freire's freedom, oppression, hope and indignation could be translated into the world of eternal digital connection. What would Freire's interaction have been like in this world of apps, algorithms, and influencers, and how do we all interact in the world of social media? The text looks at the networks as an exemplification of Freirean societies in transition, societies full of contradictions; of the new edges of illiteracy, this time digital; and the still updated notion of education as a strategic scenario for the political and the ethical, even within social networks. It calls for a Freire influencer who confronts us with the alienation of algorithms.
