Abstract

This article is a reflection that takes part of a research process that analyzed the work of social work professionals, giving continuity to a previous investigation related to the pedagogical dimension of this area. First, the text intends to understand social work as a model of education, which is situated in the order of otras educaciones or educaciones otras. The main objective is to present some reflections on the contributions of Paulo Freire's thought and action to social work as a discipline/profession from the educational point of view. Finally, the reflections have been organized considering three issues: 1) Paulo Freire's experience in and from social work; 2) his reflections for and about social work, and 3) the social work experiences that recognize the author's influence.
