Abstract

SARDINAS GOMEZ, ORESTES. THE PATRIMONY IN THE PERIPHERY OF GREAT URBAN CENTERS: AN APPROACH TO THE PROBLEMATIC OF THE LOCALITY OF COJÍMAR, CITY OF HAVANA. Investig. desarro. [online]. 2008, vol.16, n.1, pp.146-173. ISSN 0121-3261.

Cojímar is a small town to east of Havana City. Founded by the middle of the XVI century, it experienced certain development as spa at the end of the XIX century and the first half of the XX century, only interrupted by the exploitation of the beaches of the Eastern Havana coast. Cojimar has a rich cultural and natural patrimony together with a strong environmental deterioration. This paper analyses the main problems in relationship with patrimony elements.
