Abstract

MERTINS, Günter  and  PAAL, Michaela. REGIONAL PLANNING WITHIN THE GERMAN INSTITUTIONAL PLANNING FRAMEWORK -INSTRUMENTS AND EFFECTIVENESS. Investig. desarro. [online]. 2009, vol.17, n.2, pp.242-267. ISSN 0121-3261.

First approaches in German regional planning date from the interwaryears, but not until the 1960s the legally binding instrument 'Regional Plan" is one of the central means to execute the general guidelines and objectives in territorial planning on the spatial level of planning regions. Even though the organisation of regional planning differs between the Federal states, it is an important link between the very detailed municipal planning and the more general Federal states' planning stipulations.

Keywords : Country Planning; Regional Planning; Municipal Planning; Federal Planning Stipulations.
