Abstract

FRANCO SILVA, Francisco Javier  and  PEREZ SALAZAR, Luz Magnolia. Life and Territory Projects in the Present: Conceptual and Methodological Revision to examine the building of subjectivities in the urban realm. Investig. desarro. [online]. 2009, vol.17, n.2, pp.412-433. ISSN 0121-3261.

This work discusses the incidence of present day social dynamics involved in modeling the subjectivity of the city, this will be done taking as a departure point the concept of "Life Project" examining the potentialities that such a construct posses to explain the cultural matrix of the subject. To this end we analyze diverse notions associated with this category in the social sciences and evaluate its usefulness to understand the manners, through which the subjects appropriate their environment, make sense of it and ultimately build their subjectivity. We contrast the relationships established between the cultural grammar of the subject and the causal factors originated from the social, artificial and environmental realm, and the cultural structures where its life is rooted. On the other hand we also examine the different meanings of Life Projects in their inception with the biographic methodology.

Keywords : Life Outlook and Territory in the Present; A conceptual and methodological perspective to approach the construction of subjectivities in the urban realm.
