Abstract

MANZIONE, María Ana. School principalship and supervision in Argentina: From successful manager to icons of social contention. Investig. desarro. [online]. 2010, vol.18, n.1, pp.68-91. ISSN 0121-3261.

This document analyses the modifications in government interpellations destined to school directors due to the last Argentinean Educational Reform. From a perspective centered in management, success and efficiency, schoolprincipalship is usually considered as oriented to the articulation with other institutions — governmental or non-governmental— aimed to ensure support for the school community pertaining empoverished sectors. These interpellations, redefined in every context and by every subject, give rise to particularprofessional experiences. This article comes out of my doctoral dissertation "De la Dirección a la Gestión escolar en la Educación General Básica en la Provincia de Buenos Aires. Un abordaje a través de dos distritos escolares" from schoolprincipalship to school direction in the primary education of Buenos Aires Province. A two different years perspective, in which proffessional experiences of directors are analysed from a "sociology of action" perspective.

Keywords : Educational reforms; proffessional experiences; regulatory strategies.
