Abstract

GONZALEZ ARANA, Roberto  and  MOLINARES GUERRERO, Ivonne. Violence in Colombia: A Particular view for its comprehension. On how we perceive social violence at a greater scale and make invisible non mediatic violence. Investig. desarro. [online]. 2010, vol.18, n.2, pp.346-369. ISSN 0121-3261.

This paper examines the multiple forms of violence in Colombia and aims ambitiously, a brief review of the route of its forms, beginning with a definition of violence and violence that the country has experienced in the past two decades, as from the same establishment and consolidation of the republic, this has been a validated tool or disqualified in the Colombian context, as actors, victims or perpetrators, which ultimately are not citizens of a nation with a strong brand violent, many have tried to explain from different angles, with varying results. In addition, it also aims to contrast the dominance of social and political violence with violence smaller scale considered as domestic or specific groups, with the intention of promoting a reflection, to the fact that ultimately all forms of violence is just that, violence.

Keywords : Violence; social violence; smaller-scale violence; media coverage of violence; rational and irrational violence..
