Abstract

DENEGRI CORIA, Marianela; CHAVEZ HERTING, David; SILVA LAYERA, Francisca  and  DEL VALLE ROJAS, Carlos. Social representations about the conflict between the Chilean State and the Mapuche Indigenous in Chilean university students: A study with natural semantic network. Investig. desarro. [online]. 2015, vol.23, n.2, pp.256-277. ISSN 0121-3261.  https://doi.org/10.14482/indes.23.2.7065.

This research was aimed, as a first approach to the social representations of the "conflict nation-state and the Mapuche people" in university students of Social Sciences at a state university in southern Chile with semantic networks using four stimulus-sentences. The results indicate that there is a perception of the situation that highlights the conflict, with a very negative view about government, the judiciary, and the media. We discuss the implications for the future professional performance of these students in the case they should work in a context of direct or indirect involvement in this conflict.

Keywords : Natural semantic networks; social representations; conflict; mapuche.
