This article shows the results of an investigation aimed the understanding relationship between ICT and the acquisition of literacy skills in first grade students of elementary school. For this, we designed and implemented a learning experience based on technological elements with 22 children in the first grade from a school in Cucuta (Colombia). To monitor progress, a diagnosis was made among scholar participation, teacher interviews and focus groups with some children who gave guidelines for the design of the learning experience. ICT correspond to teaching aids that can be used for teaching and learning of literacy. The relationship between these two areas is in the communication and mediation field exerted by teachers.
