Abstract This reflection essay highlights the convergence of participatory action research and the complex thought. The philosophical, epistemological and methodological tenets of these two currents of thought arise. He realizes his claim of intersubjectivity; of the interobjetividad; the double contextualization of the studied reality and its recognition of the diversity that underpins them for his criticism of ethnocentrism and Eurocentrism. Equally stressed the importance given by both currents to the dialogue of knowledges and the emergence of the social movements of the native peoples and their cultures. Finally arise, as practical evidence of this convergence, the contributions of the national educational expedition to current research in the field of pedagogy.
