This paper analyzes the dimensions of citizenship, helping to recognize how work has been done around the concept and practices of being a citizen in different social, economic, political and cultural contexts. In this way, the document traces the ways of conceiving citizenship in different periods of history and emphasizes the new constructions developed today. Finally, we will refer to a theme of citizenship as a social construction resulting from the intersubjectivities of human beings with other human beings and the institutions that make up societies in each historical moment.
