Summary. Traditionally, there is an established trend to establish the strong character of the end (τέλος) in Aristotelian Philosophy, a concept to which another important one is associated, necessity (ἀνάγκη). Both are closely linked to the concept of physis (φύσις), understood as form and matter. The richnees of the biological treatsies of Aristotle lies in that they constitute an area of observation of the main concepts of Aristotelian Philosophy, and beyond being a mere addition to the great works of the philosopher, they enable the analysis of concepts that, in the context of empirical research acquire other tones; an example of this is the interpretation of end and necessity in relation to the living. The purpose of this article is the follow-up of finality and its excedents in the realm of Aristotelian Biology, because this theme leads us to two other concepts that are more excluded, since the Second Analitics, from science: casuality (τύχη) and accident (συμβεβηκός).
