BUGANZA, Jacob. The core of the ethics of some Middle-Platonists. Estud.filos [online]. 2023, n.67, pp.111-126.  Epub 25-Jan-2023. ISSN 0121-3628.  https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.ef.346696.

One of the main lines of research that emerged within the framework of studies on ancient philosophy consists of outlining the main proposals of its most representative authors. The philosophers who are today called Middle-Platonists are studied, at least in part, from this perspective. Thus, the article proposes a schematization of the Middle-Platonist ethics starting from the metaphysical-anthropological approaches common to the main representatives of these philosophers. Studing the concepts of God, Idea and man, the article seeks to highlight which are the main ethical theses of the Middle-Platonists, namely, the subjection of sensitivity to reason, the importance of moral virtue and human directionality in relation to the ultimate end.

Palavras-chave : middle platonism; classical ethics; metaphysics; anthropology; moral virtue.
