Resumen

HURTADO-NERY, Víctor L.; NOBRE-SOARES, Rita da Trinda de Ribeiro  y  SANT'ANNA-LYRA, Michelle. Digestiblelysine levels effects on performance of growing swine to 45 - 70 kg feed withrice byproducts diets. Orinoquia [online]. 2012, vol.16, n.1, pp.39-45. ISSN 0121-3709.

This objective of this work was toevaluate the effect of digestible lysine levels on pigs" performance growthfrom 45-70 kg liveweight when fed on diets containing rice subproducts. 40Landrace x Large White x Pietrain crossbred pigs weighing 45.92±1.47kgliveweight were used; they were distributed in a random block experimentaldesign with four treatments, five repeats and two animals per experimentalunit. The treatments consisted of four L-lysine supplement levels (0.000%,0.191%, 0.382% and 0.573%), resulting in experimental rations having 0.628%,0.778%, 0.928% and 1.079% digestible lysine for the 45-70 kg liveweight growthphase. Lysine levels had a quadratic effect (p<0.05) on weight gain (0.730, 0.794, 0.819 and 0.759 kg) and on feed conversion (2.561, 2.353, 2.203 and 2.396, respectively). There was a lineal effect (p<0.05) on daily lysine consumption (12, 14, 17 and 21 g, respectively). Digestible lysine levels did not influence (p>0.05)daily food consumption or metabolisable energy consumption. Digestible lysinerequirement was estimated at 0.879% for maximum pig weight gain during 45-70 kggrowth phase for pigs fed on diets containing rice subproducts.
