Abstract

BOHORQUEZ-PAEZ, Daniel A.A.; ROJAS-RUIZ, Francisco J.  and  GIMENEZ-FUENTES-GUERRA, Francisco J.. The efficiency of in-line speedskating front and side starts  for the 300 metres individual time trials. Orinoquia [online]. 2016, vol.20, n.1, pp.77-83. ISSN 0121-3709.

The approach already described by Bohórquez et al., (2014) was used for biomechanical analysis and evaluation of eleven in-line speed (ILS) skaters’ front start (FS) and side start (SS) using thrust from the left sagittal plane concerning individual time trials (ITT) SIMI°Twinner Pro and SPSS software (version 19) data analysis led to determining that SS was more efficient than FS regarding 300 metres ILS skating ITT.

Keywords : in-line speed skating; individual time trials raced against the clock; front start; side start; left trochanter (upper hip).
