Abstract

This article is aimed at giving importance to the historical, contextual and prospective review of virtual education in Colombia and its interaction with the use of the information and communication technologies, taking into account the description and characterization of its theoretical elements, in order to examine the degree to which the "virtual institution" has really arrived in higher education. The report provides a detailed look at various sources, texts and quotes, in which we can establish a framework for the background and research studies carried out on the general aspects that show the transition from presence to virtual systems in the structuring of various alternative models such as the b-learning. Based on this interpretation, the research establish limits, terms and conditions for its perception in high level education institutions from a causality system that allows teachers to carry out a feedback in order to improve the educational processes in these fields
