The article presents an educational case report associated with community environmental education practices in the reef of Isla Fuerte, Bolívar, experienced in the deployment of the experiences of environmental awareness and culture based on the identification of sustainable local knowledge. Through the community ecotourism that involves responsible trips to natural areas to conserve the environment and improve the conditions of the population by means of practices such as sea guardians, migratory bird sightings, trasmallo workshops and an underwater museum, it is possible to- methodologically consolidate this experience from a qualitative ethnographic perspective, describing and interpreting systematically, the environmental culture of the diverse inhabitants of the. The educational experience carried out concludes that community environmental education allows local and landscape transformations, as well as the strengthening of the participating human fabric?
