The aim of this research was to study social factors related to social reinsertion for ex-inmates. Attitudes towards the hiring of released inmates were measured in a non-randomized sample of university students (n=180). Results showed less favorable attitudes for hiring sexual, physic or property offenders, and more favorable attitudes towards first offense, young or women inmates. Knowing a relative or friend prisoner was associated with some positive attitudes towards ex-convicts.
