Purpose: To determine the degree of spiritual wellness of nurses serving in Intensive Care Units in Cartagena. Methodology: descriptive study, random sample of 101 female and male nurses with over six months in the work place. Upon the signature of the informed consent forms, a demographic characterization of the group was conducted using Pamela Reed's Spiritual Perspective Scale to measure spiritual beliefs and practices. Data are presented in frequencies and percentages. Results: 94.1 % are women, in average, aged 33.2 years and five-year working experience; 66.3% belong to a religious group. The total score of the scale is 60 points, 98% of the participants had a high spiritual wellness (46-60 points) and their common practices are prayers (69.3 %) or meditation (57.4 %). 69.3 % agreed to affrm that spiritual beliefs are important and 60.4% use to feel close to God. Conclusions: a high spiritual wellness was observed, substantiated in the spiritual practices and beliefs. In nursing, spirituality is an important dimension of care because it makes easier to believe in the relation of the health-care experience.
