Objective: To analyze the reciprocal nursing care in a Nursing situation. Method: With the orientation of a special guide for the analysis of nursing situations that was developed by the Group of Study of the Chronic Care Patients and their families of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, a Nursing situation of the clinical practice was taken in the Wound and Stomas Service of the Instituto Nacional de Cancerologia ESE de Colombia. The theoretical components of the reciprocal care were explored. Results: The analyzed Nursing situation reflects a reciprocal philosophy of nursing in which the meta-paradigmatic concepts and the different nursing knowledge needed for caring are also visible. Conclusion: The Nursing situation based on reciprocal care aloud nursing to communicate all the knowledge that is required for an expert nurse. The application of a guide in order to think about the daily clinical practice helps in the analysis and comprehension of the nursing care.
