Objective: To evaluate the degree of job satisfaction of nurses who work in a health care fourth level of Bogotá, Colombia. Method: A descriptive cross-sectional, with a population of 105 nurses working in a health care level four. Questionnaire was used Font-Roja, instrument for measuring job satisfaction in hospitals of Aranaz and Mira. Data were analyzed using the SPSS Version 15.0 was calculated ANOVA and forces explored association between variables. Results: We obtained an 80% stake. The average job satisfaction of nurses in this hospital facility is 2.91 (SD 0.23). The nurses show greater dissatisfaction in relation to men. Showed statistically significant relationships between job satisfaction and the type of college which was discharged the nurse regarding factors of competence, status and extrinsic characteristics of work monotony. In exploring the forces of association between variables, it was identified that the service in which nurses perform their activities is interpreted as a protective factor against job dissatisfaction. Conclusions: We found no statistically significant relationships between job satisfaction of nurses in relation to gender, age, educational background and service to which they are assigned.
