ALVAREZ-YANEZ, Débora Milena y PEREZ-BAYONA, Cindy Lorena. Risk of preterm delivery: a look from the Mishel's model. av.enferm. [online]. 2017, vol.35, n.1, pp.77-86. ISSN 0121-4500. https://doi.org/10.15446/av.enferm.v35n1.52586.
Objective: To describe nursing care to cope a clinical case about risk of preterm delivery based on the Merle Mishel's theoretical model and uncertainty in illness. Methodology: Report of a clinical case about risk of preterm delivery, following criteria of the nursing care process by means of NANDA, NIC and, NOC taxonomy. This process focuses on the background of uncertainty, on assessment by means of inference and illusion, and on coping with this health case, contributing to maternal-fetal quality of life. Results: The risk of preterm delivery produces uncertainty in the pregnant woman due to the threat of perinatal morbidity and mortality and the environmental crisis in the family circle. Conclusion: Nursing care, relying on Merle Mishel's middle-range theory, enables to identify stimulation that causes uncertainty, and the available resources to coping and interaction in family decision-making.
